ART II- Sketchbook Assignment #7 Chess set Brainstorm
You
will be creating a set of small clay
sculptures based on the characters
in the game of chess.
You
must combine a chosen theme
with the hierarchy of characters
within the game of chess:
King, Queen, Knight, Bishop,
Rook and Pawn.
The
theme may be animals, architecture,
food, moods, musical instruments, etc.
You
may
not use any existing characters, i.e. anime or the Simpsons.
Brainstorm,
select and develop you theme.
- List 6 possible themes for your set of chess pieces.
- Select your 2 best themes.
- Apply the hierarchy (ranks of importance/power) to your theme.
- Create a series of
sketches for a set of characters based on all 6 ranks in each of your 2 best themes.
